There is no “best” cholesterol medication. Each med works differently in each person’s body and it is trial and error – depending on what your numbers do because each med is metabolized differently depending on your specific body chemistry. Were you having symptoms or side effects why they switched you from Vytorin? Or, was it because your insurance demanded the change? You need to be talking with your physician about your numbers – you have a right to have a discussion as to which med might be right and also costs associated with the meds and why you were switched in the first place.
Cholesterol and the blockade in the arteries of the Heart:
Suprisingly, more importance is given to the heart – than to the lungs and liver. Lungs work to purify the blood and the liver neutralizes the toxins. Moreover, in order to produce bile, the liver uses cholesterol. So, in case of any problem about high cholesterol, along with change in the diet (light diet), one must pay attention to activate the liver and to do the following :
(1) Press point nos. 22 and 23 those of Gall Bladder and Liver.
( 2 ) Eat 2 pieces of black pepper or clove after each meal.
(3) Eat 1 teaspoon mixture of 50 % powder of dried coriander seeds and 50 % powder of dried cumin seeds (known in India as Dhania-Jira (snfar-^kr). This is an anti-oxidant and can be taken throughout life.
( 4 ) Eat a mixture of 50 % powder of Cinnamon + 50 % pure honey-twice a day for 45 to 60 days.
(5) Take Blue light on Liver-stomach area for 4 to 6 minutes twice a day for 12/15 days.
And see the wonderful result just in 15 to 30 days. This treatment is so useful that even if angioplasty or even bypass surgery is advised on the basis of angiography; it will not be required. But along with the above-mentioned treatment, one must take treatment for the heart also. It may be noted that this treatment is tried in the hospitals of Canada and England and wonderful results are obtained. Even in case bypass surgery is again advised, such operations can be averted.
After the birth of a child, proper check-up (which is possible through Acupressure without cost) of its body should be made within three months and if necessary, correct the working of all the endocrine glands and other organs including the heart.
In case any problem is found, even a hole in the heart, it can be corrected e.g. Once a baby was not developing and so was checked by a cardiologist. He found a hole in its heart. As an operation to correct the hole could not be done before the age of twelve, she was asked to see the doctor later on. The mother brought the baby to me. She was advised to take the treatment mentioned for the heart and just within six months, the baby started growing satisfactorily. At the age of twelve, she was again examined by the same cardiologist and he was surprised to observe that there was no more hole in her the heart. And so, the operation was not necessary.
Thus, all types of Heart problems can be corrected-better if detected at an early age. The cure will be faster.

Here in the UK the pharmaceutical meds recommended are called statin.
I do not know how serious your readings are, because they are different in UK. The first thing is stay away from all fried foods. Only eat steamed fish and lots of green (the darker in colour the better) veggies. Tomatoes you slightly heat. Try and drink herbal teas without sugar. No full cream milk and generally exercise by walking one hour a day.
Once you take pharmaceutical meds, it is difficult to change, but not impossible. I have a brother who is very active and not at all overweight, yet his cholesterol level is very high, mainly because he eats foods that are high in saturated fats. Real butter is actually better than fake butter, providing you only use it as a spread. Equally, boiling eggs, should be free range and organic.
I wish you well. The natural way is always the best way, but you first need to stabilise your condition. Good luck.
PS I remember a product from Herbalife, Niteworks I think is the name. Dr. Ignarrio discovered this product. It has a high quantity of Taurine and also an ingredient that is highly recommended to women who are pregnant. Sorry, brain Freeze. It is not cheap, but it is an amazing product and if you live in America, you are a lucky person. Check with your GP though.
