I am a heart patient for the last six and half years. Your hdl is on lower side but not alarming. You should dip 5 almonds (badam) daily in the water at night and take in the morning after removing it cover, it will definitely raise your HDL.. If you can get " Arjun tree chhal" it will be very useful for maintaining cholesterol & healthy heart.Change in lifestyle, eating habits daily pranayam will also be useful. For more detail about lifestyle you may visit following website--

sebarr

I have noticed that other than diet & exercise, everytime I smoke it affects my HDL & LDL H goes down & L goes up. Even one or two cigs a week make a difference.

coronel

not the answer you are looking for as I live in England where we have the nhs service but I have often wondered how you would manage in America if you did not have medical insurance. . But I am also interested in diet and nutrition and from experience over a lot of years a good diet really does make a difference to ones health and the need for a doctor.

bauer

One handful of nuts per day (walnuts)
Olive oil 1 tbsp / day - cleans arteries
Salmon, Cod or Bass 3x/wk fish oil
flavinoids - nuts, green tea, red wine, grapes, cranberries, oj, onions, tomatoes and tomato juice.

Red meat as little as possible but the link below describes the reasons for the list above and some benefits of hamburger (WITHOUT cheese).
