Change your diet, exercise and try increasing your intake of omega 3 fatty acids. You can take fish oil or flaxseed oil capsules containing the omega 3s.
Diet alone doesn’t always control this problem….but you can try a diet with lots of fruits and veggie….very low fat foods….and if you’re overweight get into shape. Drugs are not fun to take but to save your life they may be necessary.
My dad used to have really high cholesterol and then he started running and working out. he also changed his diet considerably. he also gets it checked every year. He didn’t take any drugs, and now there are only like 2 things that still need to be lowered, as opposed to 8 or 9.
No more red meat or fatty foods. Check the Chol. content of everything you buy. Exercise. Even then, most people’s sytems manufacture cholesterol so they have to take meds.
yes i too had high cholesterol and lower it w/o drugs, change your eating habits, drink lots of water, exercise more even if it’s just walking more. i also take omega 3 pills, which has fish oil in them, suppose to help. it work for me. mine is now lower
There are many medicines that lower the cholesterol like Lipid (most begin with Lippi something) its better to take the medicine no side effects and also work on changing your eating habits also, but many people eat healthy diets and still have high cholesterol.
I ate oatmeal and drink star fruit juice with no sugar…
Change all your dairy product to light non fat products…if possible substitute the oil with non cholesterol oil like olive oil or salad oil…don’t eat too much fries too…
Eat oatmeal for meal, and consume garlic oil. It will reduce your cholesterol fast.
An oatmeal doesn’t contain any fat. It will clean your collon also.
Garlic oil to reduce your total cholesterol. by take up your HDL, and lowering your LDL and Triglycerides.
These don’t heve side effect. Many people use them savely.
And ofcourse, don’t forget to try exercises
I wont take drugs unless its absolute only solution. Barry Sears has a book eating in the zone. By change your eating habits, not dieting per say, you can help control your insulin levels and speed up your metabolism. There is also a vitamin on the market, ask at your local vitamin shop. Pick the book up at the library, or you can buy the paperback. By the way my cholesterol level is about 120, my doctor is jealous its lower than his.
Diet and exercise help you need to go to the American heart association tons of info. If you go to a dietitian they will give you a diet and make suggestions based on just you not a fad diet an it is the healthiest way. My dad takes Lipitor and has lowered his along with exercising 3 times a week for 3 minutes it could be just walking. Diet and exercise alone did not work in his case they say genetics play a factor. Good luck
I read in a book that “Benecol” Butter (Plant Stanols/Sterols) taken 3 servings per day was successful in a study, that’s what i’m trying now, my cholest. was 311, I tried several staton and other drugs, they made me really sick (lots of side effects) also to keep my homocystine down I take vitamine B6 (50mg), B12 (500mcg) and Folic Acid 800 mcg) – last test I had Result: “7″ – which is concidered a good rate – if goes over 10 you are in high risk of haert desease

don’t rely on drugs. Consult a dietitian so you will have an appropriate diet to lower your cholesterol.

Garlic pills are supposed to help, but you can also cook with fresh garlic. Garlic salt doesn’t work, not sure about garlic powder.

eliminate fatty, and fried foods, and use garlic (most effective is fresh garlic, even though it has an odor)
